Service Description
For those wanting to take their first step into the world of DanceSport competition, this class provides an opportunity to compete. The class is part of a 10 week course that will teach you the fundamentals of DanceSport competition, provide an opportunity to partner up & develop some competitive routines, and culminate in the entry to a DanceSport Australia championship. You will learn: - DSA approved syllabus choreography & competitive routines for all 3 styles - Foundations of floorcraft (including how to lead & follow) - DanceSport rules & requirements - How the judging system works & what adjudicators are looking for ...& more Learn from seasoned competitors & hear from world champions. Don't miss this opportunity to work with the best in the business & start your competitive journey in the best way possible. This course will commence on the 2nd of February, and will conclude on the 6th of April. Students will then have the opportunity to compete in the Great Western Championship held four days later on the 10th of April. Casual rates are not applicable to this class & new students will not be accepted past week 3 (Feb 16). In order to compete in the Great Western Championship students must register with DanceSport Australia and enter into the competition prior to the closing date, DSA fees apply (recreational membership is $30 for 2022, competition entry fee TBC) & are not included in the course price. Partners are not required as we will partner you up with another student in the class, however if you wish to come with someone with the intention of competing together, that is completely fine too.
